On-Going Psychotherapy Groups at Collaborative Care

A very viable and productive adjunct to individual psychotherapy is the Psychotherapy Group. This is a therapist led but member responsive addition to any therapy treatment regimen where members facing similar issues or circumstance can find help, support, and guidance through the use of this therapeutic community. Collaborative Care will be offering Psychotherapy groups at its various locations. Some of the groups are already underway, can be joined and will be expanded to our other locations.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

DBT Group meets weekly on Wednesdays, from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Scheduled meetings are from March 8th, every week, through June 28, 2017. Clients who could benefit from this group therapy are those who suffer depression and anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, or borderline personality disorder. Clients have an opportunity to learn skilled behavior that can replace emotion driven, impulsive behavior. All clients are asked to purchase the Out of Control Workbook by Melanie Sheets, available on her website or through Amazon. Class attendees are expected to have individual treatment from a DBT-informed therapist as well as the group. Questions can be addressed to Billie Lee Orenbuch at 484-270-8817 x 314.

The Teen Group

This is an interactive group for high school attending Teens between the ages of 15 to 18. A variety of topics are covered and change on a weekly basis depending on need. Some of the topics covered are; school, parents, relationships romantic and otherwise, sex, depression, self-destructive behaviors, and alternatives to everything. Some of the goals of this group are for Teens to get support, feedback, options and alternatives from their peers in a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment.

Women in Transition

This is a therapeutic support group for women as they travel through life dealing with the transitions and changes, some planned some not. No one plans to be separated, divorced, depressed, anxious, or lose loved ones, but it’s a part of life. Be a part of this sisterhood and be able to get and give the support you want and need.

Addictive Behaviors and Substance Abuse Group

This is an adult only, ongoing treatment group for those who want to address the issues of WHY they self-medicate and participate in activities or behaviors that are ultimately destructive to themselves and their loved ones. While we support and encourage our members to attend 12 step fellowships, this is NOT a 12-step program. The ABSAG is a professionally led therapy group run by Masters level, licensed clinicians well-experienced in the recovery process, who can address the underlying issues of why people use and abuse and repetitively self-destruct. This group is for those that believe they may have a problem with alcohol, drugs, or both prescribed and “street” acquired, gambling, sex, pornography, video games, and other activities. We are a freestanding private practice group, not affiliated with any hospital or rehab, and can help protect the anonymity and confidentiality of our participants. Our goal is to help our members identify, understand, and address the underlying personal factors that cause their low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, isolation, withdrawal, anger, and other individual problems that are associated with their behaviors. Family patterns will be identified and relationship issues addressed. The root cause of behaviors and healthier ways of coping will be identified. In short; there Is a solution.
