Modalities that we offer for healing the body include:
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) includes postural analysis and a thorough evaluation to help determine what factors are creating tight muscles or even pressure on nerves caused by chronic muscle conditions. Trigger Point Therapy is used to break the pattern of tension and pain between the muscles, neurons and the brain. Trigger points are very tender areas of weak tissue. When active, they produce pain, often in other areas of the body, known as referral pain. NMT offers relief for a longer period of time by dealing with the main causes of muscle problems.
There is a variety of massage therapies available:
- Nurturing Massage
These gentle forms include spa and pampering massage treatments, generic style Swedish massage, Trager® aquatic massage, and therapeutic forms of energy bodywork such as craniosacral polarity® and Jin Shin Jyutsu.
- Therapeutic Massage Styles
These types of bodywork focus on clearing stress and dealing with chronic tension patterns. The work is deeper, delving into body armor and resilient tension patterns in the body. Examples of this type of massage include deep tissue bodywork, reflexology, Shiatsu, deeper Swedish, Trager® chair massage, and connective tissue massage.
- Medical or Rehab Massage
These are treatments for reoccurring or persistent injuries to muscles and joints that are overused or misused and may compromise one's posture and daily activities. Treatments include Myofascia Bodywork, acupressure and Acuscope micro-current.
